Cecilia touched her lip, realizing what she must have done. With his voice, again she felt like she was on display for the 'great genius' to prod at and mock. Here she was, getting caught for making another mistake caused by her impurity as a monster. It was laughable, and some sick part of her did want to chuckle at her many recent failures. The fact that there was a witness to her lack of control over the simple situation was even more painful to her.
She trusted- and that was her mistake. She trusted the man she loved, who decided to follow Shinra's orders (though he swore to her his loyalty) and then took her here, where he planned to bury her before the frost fully settled down. After all, if such a thing happened one wouldn't find a body until next spring. He had dragged her here, but against his plan, she was still alive and woke up at the coldness around herself, and they had fought.
He left her a bloody leg and she threw him into her grave, and watched him fight against the rock, rubble, and mud she threw on top of him. Cecilia had been sitting there mourning her crime, and Jani consoled her, however demons are greedy creatures. If Cecilia had died, Jani would have gotten the body, and more power than she could have ever used through Cecilia's consciousness. So certainly, if Cecilia was being self-destructive Jani was not going to stop her.
Cecilia's eyes closed, trying to block out her memories. "It's nothing," she muttered, "...nothing important."

It was obvious from her brush-off response that the girl's thoughts carried more weight than she was sharing. However, Cyanea was unwilling to share truths about himself, so he in no way found it his place to pry in order to uncover hers.
As they continued on their way, he found he had no idea what to say to break the silence. Conversational pieces seemed too shallow after their last exchange, and weighty topics seemed doomed to send them back into silence.
No matter, now that he'd started to think about it, the quiet became a weight that seemed to press in on them. Finding it rather ridiculous, he decided that simple was better than non-existant.
"...Have you travelled much of the the countryside, Miss Lionheart?"

Honestly, Cecilia was glad that her savior was able to find a topic of conversation.
"W-well," she said, "Before last year, I couldn't begin to fathom how large a world could be. I really even know what side of the world we are on."
It was a light topic, and it helped her to avoid any thoughts of the man she left in the ground not too far away from where she imagined her own demise would have been

Content that they'd successfully moved out of uncomfortable territory, Cyanea relaxed visibly. Cracking a small smile, he replied, "I can assure you, the world is quite expansive, especially if you can find the time to fully explore it. Very beautiful if you catch the right area at the precise right time, as well."
Truly, it had been a long time since he had any company. And especially company that he didn't have to keep a distance from for fear of them noticing his unique qualities. Though he knew a certain amount of danger came with continuing to travel with one that had noticed his appearance, he couldn't help but feel a hidden bit of happiness for a listening ear. After all, try as he might to adjust to the life of a loner, he had always been one that liked company, ever since his childhood.
"The forest we happen to be travelling through currently falls in the middle of this continent. The place is fair-weathered and of the people on either side, in my opinion those on the side we are headed toward are the kinder and more welcoming bunch." Shaking his hood off, he continued his explanation, becoming more comfortable as he went. "The clothing they wear is much brighter as well, shades of turquoise and maroon and evergreen. They have wonderful festivals, if you were to visit at the right points in the season."
Pausing in his ramblings, he looked down at Cecilia, readjusting his hold on her in the meantime. "I hope I'm not boring you?"

"It's not boring!" Cecilia said, "I've never been to a place like what you're telling me about. Where I've lived most of my life... people wear stiff, dark or white suits and never did anyone smile... a festival was unheard of. I don't think I've ever attended one."
She was honestly interested in the conversation, it was obvious by a certain fluctuation in her voice. "Please, tell me more?" She smiled.
It seemed that she also enjoyed company, though usually found none who wouldn't try to kill her while she slept. She had a strange feeling that this unusual man wouldn't kill her, probably because he was taking the effort to carry her.

Fayden glanced around, listening to the conversation. "Right..," he muttered, still behind the tree trunk. As he cocked his head to the branches of said tree, remarkably high, he noticed that they were leaving, and would be out of hearing-range shortly. Cursing the 'damned snow', he trodded off, following them and trying to walk in the already-crushed snow that evidently others had stepped in; it tended to make less noise, seeing as there was a shorter distance to the soil, a veritable cushion to sound (as if one really wanted to dig tunnels and yell out from down low to on high) and his tracks, were, of course, indistinguishable.
But set aside the discussion of the process of evading common tracking maneuvers and return to his (admittedly quite boring and unimportant) trodding.
After what seemed to be a few seconds, he heard a sudden decrease in volume, possibly from the female, and as the sentence went on, he heard less and less, until what seemed to be the predicate was now utterly unintelligible. Sighing and shaking his head, breathing out and watching his breath froth away in the frosty air, he increased his walking speed gracefully, subtly, whatever one wished to call it.

Letting his smile widen an ever-so-small, he nodded in response to her request. “Many of the towns on both sides of the forest celebrate various points in the year with festivals. Fanciful parties, with lavish decorations and food cooked the day long. I last crossed through here a few years back, as I said, and had been just after one of the larger celebrations of the seasons. It must find its base in what used to be the harvest, as all wore shades of gold and orange, bright and rich.”
As he spoke, Cyanea could visualize clearly what he spoke of, though it had been many more years ago than he let on. He had seen the harvest festival evolve over the years, had watched the slow alteration of ceremonial dances, the rotation of honored traditions as society became more sophisticated.
“Some are planned, and others appear in response to general good spirits. You should have the opportunity to attend one, if you decide to stay in a town to heal and recover your strength.”

"Well... I would love to.." Cecilia honestly responded as she quieted her voice, "however we are being followed."
She said it so casually, as though it were common for her to notice a stalker or a spy along her travels.
"Do you suppose they're dangerous?" she asked quietly,"usually when I find a spy, they're from... my homeland."

Being mentioned had evidently galvanised Fayden for the introduction.
People were fickle. They changed their allegiances, friendships, loves like Arelia changed clothes.
Which, frankly, was pretty often.
With an exaggerated sigh, he ambled forth, sort of zombie-like in the eerie sense that there was about as much fear, happiness, or anything visible in his eyes as there was cheese in the moon. The little color in his exposed skin was due to the cold; his face was a dull, pallid off-white, with a few rosy patches where even he was cold. His eyes seemed to be watering slightly; his mouth, protesting against the cold, and slowly drying up, such as that even around all this water (albeit in solid form) he was likely to dehydrate within thirty minutes. Feeling slightly lightheaded, Fayden parted his lips to speak, refusing to admit that the cold, frosty air in his throat was painful in the least. "Do you suppose I'm dangerous-looking?", he inquired prosaically, giving the slightest hint of a habit of prolix.

Cecilia was surprised at the figure of their follower. She was expecting someone taller and darker, probably wearing spy gear and wearing a serious expression
Instead, here was a man half-parched to death. Certainly not from the cold- she could tell by the way his chapped lips were as light a color as his skin.
After all, though she was currently an outlaw, her knowledge of the years of medical study and experimentation would never leave her mind. She wondered exactly how long this mad had followed them, and feared that maybe he saw her and her ex-fiance have their final argument.
"Cyanea... would it be a problem for him to go with us to a town? He's a bit better off than I was, but he could still use the help." she asked, a hint of nervousness still lingered in her voice.

The appearance of a second stranger made Cyanea freeze in his step. A number of thoughs ran through his head, one being to question how this new stranger had come so close without him noticing, another being a silent acknowledgement that his feathers were clearly visible to yet another complete stranger. The liabilities to his safety were slowly growing.
Hearing the uneasiness in Cecelia's question, he reasoned that she shared similar worries for one reason or another. "...Much as I'd like to reject the request, you speak the truth, Miss Lionheart. I can bring him as far as the town as well, if he requires the aid." It would allow him a chance to judge why the other was snooping around them, as well.
Lifting his head to the other, face entirely neutral, he spoke up. "Is it as the lady says? Do you need help"

"Well, I'm lost in this... forest and have no idea where to go," Fayden responded cheerily. "And unfortunately, it's quite cold and dry, and there's about a negative sixteen-percent chance it's going to rain." He glanced around, and mostly up. It was cloudy, yes, but with this amount of snow, it was most likely it was too cold for rain anyway. Perhaps he would partake in the normal habit of catching snow particulates upon his tongue.
Then again, his tongue was protesting having any contact with the air whatsoever, so he supposed that he would have to go thirsty. Unless, of course, they had something to drink. "Incidentally, do you have anything I could drink?"

Cecilia shook her head, "sorry, unless you're a blood drinker." she referenced to her damaged leg.
"Otherwise, you'd have to settle for wasting body heat to melt snow."
Thanks to Cyanea's body heat, the feeling was returning to her body. Her body was stiff and ached all over. She knew that there were scrapes along her body, and each of them stung.

For once, it seemed a hinderance that Cyanea never needed to carry medical supplies with him. Here were two individuals - whether they were ordinary humans or not was very questionable - both in need of care, and his only means of treatment was a form he hadn't used in decades and had no intention of using now. Especially not with so very many uncertainties to be considered.
But, it was painfully obvious that the newcomer was severly dehydrated. Melting snow he was most definitely able to do quite easily, but it seemed none of them had any form of normal container that would hold a liquid. How inconvenient.
Meeting the eyes of the stranger, he slowly stated, "As I happen to have an...elevated...body temperature, I could easily melt some of the snow around us as to keep it from lowering your body temperature even farther. the skill would only be of any use if we had a container, however. Would you happen to have one in your possession, ah..." He trailed off, hoping that was enough of a hint that a name would be appreciated as well.
